It could be that I'm I am guilty of some ancient thought process however it seems to me that one parent at the very least should be home with the kids at all times, especially when they are babies. Not that I think a "woman's place is in the home" or anything like that, but it is factual that Mom is better equipped physically to care for baby, this is clear. Our society is in a situation where in almost all cases both parents must work to cover the bills and it's the children who feel the negative effects. Not to mention those of you who are single moms or dads who are forced to put your little ones in a day-care with semi-strangers all day.

For someone like me, the idea of sending my new baby off to be watched over by strangers in a local day-care was completely appauling. This itsy-bitsy, sweet little baby, this most important jewel of my existence, and I was supposed to simply hand her over to some women working over here at the local day-care facility? I don't think so!

Well, we were able to make it so that we could keep our daughter at home so that she could be with her parents each day. And I realized after talking to many other parents that the concept of Papa going to work and Mom staying home with the kids is now not how most families are doing it. This is not okay. We are now in a situation where our kids are being raised by the government. Most all day-care facilities are regulated by some division of the government, as if that person, only because they work for a government office, somehow has more understanding of our kids' need than we do.

Some parents have no choice. If you are a single Mom I absolutely empathize with your situation. You have much work ahead of you. But like the lyric said, "I will survive!". You don't have much choice do you? It's not just your problem since you have that baby to be responsible for.

I hate to say it but when it comes to finding some sort of work from home for moms-type work you will do an awful lot of searching with little results in the way of employment. The few jobs that are actual wage jobs out there and which will allow you to work from home are far a few between and they are highly sought after.

Two problems.

This is an very competitive proposition, and work from home jobs, even if you can find one, don't exactly pay much.

My wife and I spend quite a bit of time, after our daughter came along, searching the internet for Work From Home Moms-type work. Hours and hours and hours. Many weeks passed and the positions just weren't there. Every once in a while when we found something that looked promising it was filled almost as fast as the ad was posted.

One viable suggestion to solve this problem just might be to actually start your own small business. I realize that you may be thinking that you don't have enough money to start a home business. This may be true. It could be that you have an interest in some area or a unique talent that you would like to apply to a business but you may have found that it required too hefty of an investment for you. Know that today there are many opportunities that work from home moms can use to start their own business which cost very little to get up and running.

The key is in finding something that is suited to you, which you have the skills to do, or which provides training so that you can develop your skills. Forget about franchises. They are expensive to start and most likely you will stay in the red for the first year or two, defeating the purpose of looking for work from home as a mom. Probably you are looking for something which can product income quickly, which doesn't require too much of a learning curve or much investment.

For myself, though I'm a Dad, not a Mom, I was able to find a few things that were workable in the network marketing industry. There are so many different opportunites available in this arena, it's not like the old days, or even 10 years ago. Now the biggest problem is in doing the research to find a company that fits your personality and a sponsor that you can work with. I actually went through a couple opportunities before I found the right one, and the right sponsor who was helpful and who taught me a lot of the technical, computer and internet stuff I needed to know in order to be able to do it online.

But this type of work is very social and obviously flexible time-wise, even if you have a child in your lap. You may be surprised at how many others you will talk to who are also sitting there with their kids in their lap! Should you be able to find the right sponsor, someone who can really teach you some solid internet marketing skills you will have a path to follow so that you can develop your own skills and cause increasing amounts of growth in your business as time goes on. Another thing to consider about starting such a business is that the majority of the work will be in the very beginning, in the learning curve, in the establishment of your marketing strategies, account creation, etc. Someone who really knows what they are doing can save time in the beginning by directing you so you are not just meandering all over the universe trying to figure out what to do. So you may have to search around for a bit to find someone who can sponsor you and who is wiling to help you, who has also been around in the industry for a long time. This could make it a lot easier for you, which is why I point this out as an option for you. Network marketing is one of the few fields where people are not only glad to welcome you into their business, but they are more than willing to teach you, without charging you.

The rest is just getting to work and motivating yourself.
